Learning a platform without someone beside you

Yawave's users and internal teams, a global audience, needed to learn the platform on their own. Self-service documentation and onboarding guides are what those users turn to when nobody is available to walk them through the product.

I worked with the CTO and product stakeholders to identify gaps in the documentation and to align the content with what users needed.

I created self-service documentation and onboarding guides for the Yawave platform, written for people learning the product on their own.

Two articles first published during my contract show the approach. Import Contacts/Subscribers opens with a Did you know? box explaining that a Contact is also a Subscriber, since the product uses both words for the same record. Its steps then branch on what the user sees: users with existing contacts start from the three-dot menu, and users with none start from Import Contacts.

Create a yawave Account labels the parts of its login screenshot with letters, so the step text can point to exactly where to type and click.

Guides refined for users worldwide

Document360 is a knowledge base platform. I configured and refined the Yawave user guides in Document360 for clarity, accessibility, and usability for a global audience.

Yawave documentation

Yawave's public documentation opens with a Start Here page that lays out a ten-step onboarding path and a starting point for developers. The site has been updated since my contract ended, and its articles show their current authors.
